I grew up in the East Bay, and my musical journey began with the fiddle. When I moved to Sebastopol, I switched to the guitar and began writing my own songs at age 15. I recorded my album, Shadows, for my senior project in high school. It explores topics of mortality, climate change, and loneliness in the modern world.
Since Shadows, I have been reaching toward the tradition of folk music to tell richer stories and create a dance between the beauty and the brutality of the world. I am often accompanied by my brother Kai on the fiddle, and it is truly my greatest joy to perform with him.
Music has impacted my life deeply. I am so grateful to be alive at a time when I can witness such a wealth of unique music and lyrics, and I hope that my music can touch the hearts of others as my own heart has been touched by what I hear.
